Moholoholo (pronounced "mo-ho-lo-ho-lo" meaning "very big" in Sepedi) is a world-renowned wildlife rehabilitation centre dedicated to caring for injured, poisoned, and orphaned animals from across South Africa. Founded in 1991, the centre has successfully rehabilitated and released thousands of animals back into the wild.
Located just 20 km from Hoedspruit on the Panorama Route, Moholoholo offers educational guided tours where you'll meet rescued animals, learn about conservation challenges facing African wildlife, and understand the crucial work being done to protect endangered species.
Moholoholo is famous for its vulture restaurant and rehabilitation program. See Cape vultures, white-backed vultures, eagles, owls, and other birds of prey up close. Learn about the poisoning crisis affecting Africa's vulture populations.
Meet lions and other big cats that cannot be released back into the wild due to injuries or imprinting. Your guide will explain their individual stories and the conservation challenges facing these magnificent predators.
See the famous honey badger (one of Africa's toughest animals!), servals, caracals, and other small mammals being cared for at the centre.
