Dress in neutral colors (khaki, beige, olive green, brown) to blend with the environment. Avoid bright colors and white.

• Comfortable, breathable clothing (layers recommended)

• Closed, comfortable walking shoes or safari boots

• Light jacket or fleece (mornings can be cold, especially May-September)

• Camera with zoom lens (200-400mm recommended for wildlife photography)
• Binoculars (we provide, but you can bring your own)
• Sunscreen (SPF 30+, reapply throughout the day)
• Insect repellent (DEET-based recommended)
• Personal medication (including motion sickness tablets if needed)
• Cash (for curio shops and personal purchases at rest camps)
• Reusable water bottle (we provide water)
• Small backpack to keep items together

Dry Season (May to September): Best for wildlife viewing. Animals gather at waterholes, vegetation is sparse, and it's easier to spot predators. Cooler temperatures make for comfortable game drives.

Green Season (October to April): Lush landscapes, baby animals, excellent birding, and fewer tourists. Afternoon thunderstorms possible. Animals more dispersed but still plenty to see.

Yes, Kruger is in a malaria risk area. We recommend taking antimalarial prophylaxis year-round, though risk is lowest during the dry winter months (May-September).

Additional protection: Use insect repellent, wear long sleeves and pants, especially at dawn and dusk.

While we can't guarantee specific sightings (these are wild animals in their natural habitat), Kruger has one of Africa's highest concentrations of Big Five wildlife. Our guides have an excellent track record and know the best areas and behaviors.

Most full-day safari guests see 3-4 of the Big Five. Leopards can be elusive, but we always try! The longer you're in the park, the better your chances.

Yes! Full-day safaris are suitable for children of all ages, though we recommend children be at least 5-6 years old to fully enjoy and sit still during the long day. The brunch break gives kids a chance to stretch legs and burn energy.

We follow strict Kruger National Park regulations for animal safety and your safety. Minimum distances vary by species (e.g., lions and elephants have different approach rules).

That said, animals often approach vehicles naturally! You may have elephants walk right past you, or lions resting just meters away. Our open-sided vehicles offer excellent viewing and photography from a safe distance.
